A Child is Born in Bethlehem

1.	A Child is born in Bethlehem; Allelujah,
	Exult for joy, Jerusa-lem!

2.	Lo, He who reigns above the skies Allelujah,
There, in a manger lowly, lies. Allelujah, Allelujah.

3.	The ox and ass in neighb'ring stall, Allelujah,
See in that Child the Lord of all. Allelujah, Allelujah.

4.	And kingly pilgrims, long foretold, Allelujah,
From East bring incense, myrrh, and gold, Allelujah, Allelujah.

5.	And enter with their offerings, Allelujah,
To hail the newborn King of Kings. Allelujah, Allelujah.

6.	He comes, a maid-en mother's Son, Allelujah,
Yet earthly father hath He none; Allelujah, Allelujah.

7. And, from the serpent's poison free, Allelujah,
He owned our blood and pedigree. Allelujah, Allelujah.

8.	Our feeble flesh and His the same, Allelujah,
Our sin-less kinsman He became, Allelujah, Allelujah.

9.	That we, from deadly thrall set free, Allelujah,
Like Him, and so like God, should be. Allelujah, Allelujah.

10.	Come then, and on this na-tal day, Allelujah,
Rejoice before the Lord and pray. Allelujah, Allelujah.

11.	And to the Ho-ly One in Three Allelujah,
Give praise and thanks eternally. Allelujah, Allelujah.
